Nutritional Therapy

WHAT IS NUTRITIONAL THERAPY ?

Put simply, “you are what you eat”! A nutritional therapist helps you to become healthier and happier by making simple dietary changes that are appropriate to you and sustainable in the long term.  It supports each person to develop a healthy diet, taking into account their current lifestyle and individual needs. It can be difficult to eat healthily, and a nutritional therapist will help you to do this in an easy, personalised way. Nutritional therapy is about what you can eat, more than what you can’t.  You will be amazed at the differences you can experience from making small improvements to your diet!

WHAT CAN NUTRITIONAL THERAPY TREAT?

Nutritional therapy may help with a wide variety of health conditions, some of which you would not necessarily associate with food. These include:

to name but a few!

WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM NUTRITIONAL THERAPY?

Nutritional therapy is suitable for everyone, young and old, for those who would like to alleviate specific symptoms, as well as those who would just like to improve their overall health and feeling of wellbeing. Your diet can have a huge impact on your health, and nutritional therapy helps you to identify the foods that make you feel good!

WHAT HAPPENS IN A NUTRITIONAL THERAPY SESSION?

Before the consultation you will receive a questionnaire, which you should complete and return in advance of your session.  The initial consultation will take approximately one hour, and will involve discussing your diet and the health condition(s) you would like to focus on; explanations of the possible underlying causes of your health problems and the role nutrition has to play in them; and the development of a personalised nutritional programme. Certain tests and supplements may be recommended, if appropriate.  Usually you will be advised to come back for at least one follow up consultation, if not more. This depends on each individual client and his/her particular health condition. Follow up consultations last approximately half an hour. The process involves facilitating you to make small, sustainable changes to your diet to improve your health
